What does Cancer and a Damaged Ecosystem have in Common?

Today I had an epiphany.

Last night I watched the documentary ‘Hope in a Changing Planet’, and I was so inspired and awe struck by the incredible discovery a brilliant journalist by the name of John D. Liu made by accident (a very happy one might I add). His film demonstrates the Earth’s capacity to rehabilitate severely damaged large-scale ecosystems. I’m talking about transforming a desert with ZERO sign of water or life into a lush, fertile green scape with flowing rivers and miraculously emerging native wild plants that were said to go extinct decades or even centuries ago! And all this in a matter of a few years.

This greatly improved not only the landscapes, but countless lives in the areas and their future generations by providing food, water, employment, independence, sustainability and survival. Mr. Liu states in his film that if this was done in most of the world’s damaged ecosystems, our own planet will restore itself to the point where we can reduce the threats of global warming and greatly increase our chances of survival as a species.

Watching this overwhelmed me with so much hope and optimism for our future generations. This is a historic breakthrough and a message that is being presented to all the Nation’s leaders.

Today I started contemplating the profound similarities of our Mother Gaia and our body—the macrocosm to the microcosm. It was further evidence to me of the maxim ‘As Above so Below’.

“That which is Below corresponds to that which is Above, and that which is Above corresponds to that which is Below, to accomplish the miracle of the One Thing.”

Watching this documentary I was reminded of all the amazing heroes I’ve found along my health journey that have completely healed themselves of terminal diseases without any help from the medical industry. And they all had one thing in common: they stepped away from the “Man-made” paradigm and surrendered to Mother Nature.

It wasn’t the raw vegan foods, exercising, sun light, stress therapy and natural hygiene that “miraculously” healed them, it was their body’s natural regenerative / healing function that freed them from their “diseases”. A disease is simply the flow of life obstructed from a body, organ or tissue, much like the flowing waters were obstructed from these ecosystems. The true health lifestyle begins by removing any and all obstructions that inhibit the body from healing itself. And Nature is the perfect tool.

It was mind blowing to me how this concept is so similar to the restoration process John D. Liu describes in his film: to remove all obstructions from the land and only plant what is wild and native to that land. They do simple restorative actions such as removing domesticated animals that have been grazing on the land for thousands of years, and plant native wild plants to the area. Within only a few years life fully returned to the land and wild animals started appearing in these lands again.

So when it comes to our bodies, by removing factory foods (domestic) from our diet and replacing them with whole foods in their raw natural state (native / wild), we are turning the switch on that allows our body to rehabilitate itself. It gives us our healing powers back just like our planet! And this is the time we most need it.

I see our organic, local farmers’ market foods as the native plants that belong in our body’s ecosystem and all the S.A.D foods (dairy, meats, refined grains, pesticides, artificial hormones, preservatives, MSG, aspartame, colorants, high fructose corn syrup, genetically modified organisms, industrial pollutants) as the domestic animals grazing and depleting our fields.

So how do we know what our ‘native’ diet should be? It only makes sense that it is the one that most resembles the diet of our closest species as shown in the comparison chart below and the one that is healing many people from “irreversible” conditions.

The ecological transformations Mr. Liu discovered seem to reflect how patients with terminal diseases (damaged ecosystems) are able to heal themselves by switching to a holistic lifestyle–some even in a matter of weeks!

Whether it’s healing a body or an entire ecosystem, it’s simply a matter of discovering how to repair “the switch” or the mechanism that allows the organism to repair itself.

Today I was so pleased to come across the work of Chris Wark, a Cancer survivor and founder of ChrisBeatCancer.com. He refused chemo therapy after being diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer at the age of 26. Instead of choosing 6-9 months of chemotherapy, he turned to nature and went on a raw vegan diet including tons of juicing, fruits, vegetables and leafy greens.

He now gives lectures and hosts interviews with other natural survivors that took similar steps in his YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/chrisbeatcancer

Here is an article Chris wrote about how he used the Raw Vegan diet to Beat Cancer.

In this video Chris explains how he survived Cancer:

There’s an abundance of  other examples on YouTube and his channel alone!

I also recommend the documentary The Beautiful Truth.

The most powerful statement Mr. Liu made in his documentary, that applies not only to our ecosystem but to all aspects of life in this planet, is that in our current times, we should put more effort in restoration rather than more production. This is where the real wealth resides and by following this path we can expect to live in paradise: our birth right!

I feel that these discoveries are a big part of the consciousness shift that is taking place. The significance of the saying that ‘the answer lies within’ mirrors this Natural Law as we are finally beginning to understand it.

Please share this article on the links below or with someone you know that is suffering with any disease or condition. It will encourage them to look for viable options outside of the ‘man-made paradigm’. We now have many tools, technologies and natural therapies to help us heal and/or maintain our lives and thrive in spite of the state of our world at present.
